SAT overall: 1980 Critical Reading: 800 Writing: 600 Mathematics: 580 AP Literature and Composition score: 3 AP Calculus AB: 3 As a high school senior in 2007, I received an 800 (perfect score) on the Critical Reading portion of the SAT as well as scoring a 3 on the AP Literature and Composition test. I took Honors English classes throughout my high school career. Since graduating, I have been a participant in the Honors Scholars Program at UNCW and have made the Dean's List four times. During the spring semester of 2010, I had the incredible opportunity of studying abroad at Keele University in England. While in the United Kingdom, I was given the privilege to do research on my favorite authors right in their homeland! I am extremely passionate about the study of literature and would love to instill some of this excitement in others. Courses that I have taken relevant to high school students include Ways of Teaching Literature as well as Young Adult Literature. I have taken three courses on 19th century literature, which is often assigned in high school English classrooms. Four years of Honors English classes in high school along with being a current Literature major and Creative Writing minor has given me ample experience in writing essays. I have often helped my peers with polishing their work. Relevant writing courses I have taken include: Introduction to Professional Writing, Theory and Practice of Editing, Introduction to Creative Writing, and three semesters of Creative Nonfiction.
